About Us
From Our Family To Yours
Hello. We are the Ellison Family. We live in California's Central Valley. Fresno, to be exact. We live on a small homestead on the outskirts of the city. We strive to raise food and eat as fresh and homegrown as possible. That means we have a lovely garden filled with veggies and over a dozen fruit trees that produce food for our family. We started our chicken flock with 4 Isa Browns that provided lots of fresh eggs for our table. Since then, chickens have grown into a hobby that we enjoy and the flock has grown exponentially. When COVID hit and the shelves were bare, we began raising extra chickens to provide eggs and meat for friends, neighbors, and family. The rest is history. We are now a small hobby farm specializing in beautiful and rare chicken breeds. We often donate eggs and meat to local needy families and the elderly. We only raise breeds that we, ourselves, have owned and enjoyed. If you are looking for fresh eggs to hatch or eat, chicks to start your own flock, or ornamental birds, take a look at the "Our Breeds" page and get to know the breeds we raise. You might just find what you're looking for.

Our love of Aussies began over a decade ago with our first Aussie, Max, a black bi male. We adopted Max on a whim while we were still dating. He was just so darn cute. He ended up being the best dog either of us had ever had. Sweet, loving, calm. He also got along great with our other dogs and our other dogs didn't even get along with themselves. Max helped us raise our two children. My daughter use to sneak him upstairs and hide him in her closet before bedtime so he could sleep with her in bed at night. Max has since passed on, but we speak of him often and remember him always. We are a family that has never been without a dog. Since Max, we have owned many Aussies and they have brought so much joy to our life. From swimming in the pool to riding in the cart on the golf course, they are our constant companions. We live in cattle country with mountains and beaches within a couple of hours drive, so what better breed than the Australian Shepherd?! We started breeding to bring quality, purebred Aussies to our area with the specific traits and dependable temperaments we have grown to love.
All of our dogs are family-raised in our home with our two young children. There is a lot of playtime, but we also spend a considerable amount of time training our dogs so they understand boundaries and limitations. We believe that, although we love them like family, we should let a dog be a dog. This breed is so smart, they can run circles around a novice owner. You'll understand when your Aussie starts locking you outside so she can go steal a snack out of the fridge!
